Based in a Los Angeles greeting cards design company, Tom Hansen ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt) a true believer of love and finding the one, meets Summer Finn ( Zooey Deschanel) a cold and distant girl who thinks love is a lie whilst even being the assistant to his boss. The film leads us on a twist and turning tale of the two as they expand the relationship in an unpredictable way.
What makes this film: What gets me going about this film is how unique it is, very much a coming of age film about love and the realism about getting your heart broken. It shows the infatuation of love over a long period of time (the director Marc Webb displays this exceedingly well through a variety of techniques which I love) rather than most films where the couple fall in love the next day (thank Twilight for that strange illusion).Tom Hansen does have some very amusing ditsy moments though, where you will no doubt cringe away to yourself behind your pillow. After 5 minutes though I was already feeling a part of the movie with symptoms of bipolar disorder starting to show from cheering one moment then shouting at the screen the next in that bittersweet way.This may be because as it progresses it jumps from different days in their relationship; this cinematography brought an unique eclectic feel making this film pretty amazing.
Style watch: The styling is very 50's-esque very much fitting with the style of the film, the clothes are very quaint and quirky which I loved to stare at and enjoy. Summer's styling is a mix of feminine blouses and ruffle-paneled dresses possibly from which most are vintage or chosen from basic stores like gap; this style suits her completely and she looks effortless throughout the film.

Soundtrack check: I think the soundtrack very much helped make the film; with a vibrant soul influence and some classic indie hits from The Smiths it is indeed very catchy. I haven't actually stop listening to it since I found it on Spotify and it has opened me up to some great artists.
