In the competitive world of ballet, Nina Sayers (portayed by Natalie Portman) a sweet and dedicated girl is thrown into the spotlight when chosen to play both the White & Black Swan in Swan Lake. As the movie goes on Sayers is pressurized to get into character by not only the ballet director Thomas Leroy, her controlling mother but the other ballerinas envying her spotlight. Sayars psychotic behaviour worsens when Lily ('sweet lips' Mila Kunis) a recent transfer auditions for the Black Swan, as Lily try's to build a friendship Sayars her paranoia spirals out of control believing Lily is trying to steal her leading role even on the opening night. Black swan is a deep, dark, twisted thriller; though lacking in script it portrays the grueling world or ballet perfectly with Natalie Portman giving an outstanding performance which may just well be her best work.
